From Kagoshima Airport
Airport shuttle bus, get off at Tenmonkan
No reservation needed. You pay before boarding, in cash or by contactless credit card. The last bus from Tenmonkan to the airport leaves at 18:20 (later buses leave from Kagoshima-Chuo Station).

Tram line 2 (for Kagoshima-ekimae), get off at Tenmonkan-dori
Pay as you get off, by the driver — cash or contactless credit card (Suica and other IC cards are not accepted). A taxi takes about 10 minutes.

Walk to Kagoshima Port, South Pier
Yakushima is about 1 h 50 m–2 h 50 m by Toppy & Rocket jetfoil, or about 4 h by Ferry Yakushima 2. The jetfoil and the ferry leave from different terminal buildings. Easy to reach even for an early sailing.
